my antivirus is blocking a website and flagging it as PUP. the site is one i use regularly and trust, so i’m not sure whether to be concerned or just whitelist it.
not entirely sure what PUP means in this context. i thought it stood for potentially unwanted program, but i’m being blocked from a website not downloading anything.
is this a false positive? what would actually cause a trusted site to get a PUP flag? and if i want to whitelist it, is that safe to do or does it reduce protection more broadly?
want to understand what’s actually being flagged before i decide whether to override the warning.
