Terms of use for the DigiCruncher forum

These terms govern your use of the DigiCruncher forum at digicruncher.com. By reading the forum or creating an account, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the forum. Questions can go to hello@digicruncher.com.

Using the forum

You can read the public sections without an account. To post you need one. Give an accurate email address, keep your sign in details private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and not younger than 16.

You agree to follow the community guidelines. In particular, do not post spam, do not accuse named people of using AI, do not post other people's private information and do not use the forum to help deceive a teacher, employer or client. Do not interfere with the service, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or use automated tools to post or to harvest members' personal information.

Your posts and the license you give us

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give DigiCruncher a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for formatting and distribute your posts as part of the forum, including in search results, feeds and summaries that point back to the thread. This license lasts as long as the post is on the forum and for a reasonable time afterwards while copies are removed from backups and caches. It does not transfer ownership, and we will not sell your posts to a third party as your work.

Post only what you have the right to post. Do not paste text you do not have the right to share, such as a client's confidential documents, paid content you do not own or private messages. If you quote someone else, keep it short and say where it came from.

Other members may quote short extracts of your posts in replies in the ordinary way a discussion works. Anyone reusing posts beyond that should ask the author or us first.

Not professional advice

Everything on the forum, from staff and from members, is general information and personal experience. It is not legal, academic integrity, employment, financial, medical or data protection advice, and it does not create any professional relationship. AI tools and their policies change often, so an answer may be out of date by the time you read it. Check the tool's current documentation before you rely on anything. For a formal dispute, a contract or a compliance question, speak to a qualified adviser, or to your school or employer.

We cannot tell you whether a specific piece of writing was produced by AI, and nothing here is evidence in any dispute.

Threads and reviews discuss third party tools and may link to them. Some of those tools have a commercial relationship with the forum, and some links to tools carry tracking parameters. This is described in our about page, and reviews follow the disclosure rules in the guidelines. We do not control any third party site or tool, and we are not responsible for its content, availability, pricing, accuracy or policies. Using a tool is your decision, under its own terms. Where we describe a tool, we aim to be accurate and to say what we based it on, but features and plans change, and we cannot promise the description is current.

Moderation and removal

Editors and moderators may edit, move, lock or remove posts, and may suspend or close accounts, if a post or a pattern of behaviour breaks these terms or the guidelines, or if the law requires it. We usually explain why. You can delete your account by following the process in the privacy policy.

We respect the rights of authors and publishers. If you believe material on the forum infringes your copyright, email hello@digicruncher.com with:

  • your name and contact details;
  • a description of the work you say has been infringed;
  • the exact page address of the material on the forum;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, the owner's agent or the law;
  • a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and
  • your signature, which may be typed.

We review notices promptly and may remove or disable access to the material while we do. We may pass your notice to the member who posted it. If a member believes material was removed in error, they can reply to us with their reasons, and we will consider them. Members who repeatedly infringe may lose their accounts.

Disclaimers and liability

The forum is provided as is and as available. We try to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free or suitable for your purpose. To the extent the law allows, DigiCruncher and its editors are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on a post or on a third party tool. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and for material changes we will say so on the forum. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions, notices and requests go to hello@digicruncher.com.
