Anyone actually used Grammarly’s AI humanizing feature and have a real opinion on it?
It’s bundled into a tool a lot of people already have for grammar checking, which makes it more convenient than a dedicated humanizer, assuming it’s actually decent. The honest answer I’m looking for is whether that convenience is worth it, or whether it’s noticeably weaker than purpose-built alternatives.
Convenience is the main selling point, it’s genuinely useful not having to copy text into a separate tool when you’re already in Grammarly for grammar checking anyway.
in terms of raw humanizing strength it’s less aggressive than some of the dedicated tools, which can be a positive or negative depending on whether you want subtle adjustment or a more significant rewrite.
For people who already pay for Grammarly premium for other reasons, using the bundled feature instead of paying for a second separate tool makes financial sense even if it’s not the single most powerful option available. For anything more demanding I’d still go to a dedicated tool like Walter Writes, but for light touch-ups Grammarly’s version is fine.
Worth testing it against your specific content type before relying on it. It tends to perform more consistently on business and casual writing than on more technical or academic registers, similar to most general-purpose humanizers.
It’s a fine starting point but i still do a manual pass after, same as i would with any humanizer. No tool i’ve used, bundled or standalone, eliminates the need for a final human review.
